AHA Courses for Instructors

Overview:
This course prepares healthcare providers to become American Heart Association (AHA) Instructors in disciplines such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, and First Aid. Participants learn how to effectively teach AHA programs, follow Training Center requirements, and complete all steps necessary to obtain an AHA Instructor eCard.
The program includes online learning, in-person instruction, and a monitored teaching session in alignment with AHA and Training Center standards.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:

Deliver AHA courses using approved instructional methods and materials

Demonstrate effective teaching, facilitation, and skills evaluation techniques

Understand AHA course documentation, compliance, and Training Center expectations

Utilize Atlas and AHA resources for course management and updates
Course Structure
This course includes:
Online Learning

Completion of the required AHA Instructor Essentials course
In-Person Instruction

Teaching methodology

Monitoring Session

A required monitored teaching session coordinated with the Training Center
Admission Requirements

Participants must:

Hold a current AHA Provider card in the discipline they wish to teach

Contact an AHA Training Center to confirm acceptance as an instructor candidate

Complete all required Training Center paperwork and Atlas alignment steps
Certification Eligibility
Upon successful completion of all course components and monitoring, participants will:

Receive an AHA Instructor eCard

Be aligned with their Training Center/Training Site in Atlas

Be eligible to teach AHA courses under their Training Center
