Requirements
Participants must:

Bring a completed online pretest

Achieve a minimum score of 80%

Bring a current, unexpired certification card
-
Use a textbook that follows the 2025 AHA guidelines

If a passing score is not achieved, participants will have 30 days to retake the exam.
Books may be purchased through shopcpr.heart.org or borrowed from your department or educator.

BLS (Basic Life Support) Recertification
The BLS Recertification course refreshes healthcare professionals’ skills in basic life support. Students review high-quality CPR, AED use, airway management, and emergency response for adults, children, and infants, ensuring continued competence as part of a resuscitation team.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Recertification
The ACLS Recertification course updates healthcare professionals on advanced cardiovascular life support skills. Students review cardiac arrest management, arrhythmia recognition, stroke and acute coronary syndrome response, and team-based resuscitation techniques to maintain certification and proficiency in emergency care.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Recertification
The PALS Recertification course refreshes pediatric life support skills for healthcare professionals. Students review recognition and management of pediatric respiratory distress, shock, and cardiac emergencies, perform high-quality CPR, and practice team-based resuscitation to maintain competence in pediatric emergency care.
